LUJAN CANDRIA

( MIAMI )

H O G A R E S    E N C E N D I D O S

Illuminated Houses

I have always let myself seduced by the night and its glares, both from the most radiants and the ones that are just there,

leaning on the edge of visibility.

It’s there, in the dark of night where I find each of the Illuminated Houses forming a unique composition of lights, intimate and special, that reveals their daily secrets to anyone who lets himself be dazzled. Through the observation of those luminous presences, or the lack of them, I try to recreate an ambiance, an emotional mood, a perceptual universe into which we can venture.

The series Illuminated Houses opens a door in the deep of the night to share with us the mystery of the urban geography to

which we belong.

It’s that second, frozen in time, that I attempt to capture with the camera as an accomplice, I cut a pice of reality, I take it to

foreground, I transform it into an universal landscape and make it protagonist.
